An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Play and Leisure Coordinator join our Rehabilitation services team. You will provide high quality leisure and activity opportunities which promote participation, quality of life and functional activity of children and young people. Working across therapy, psychology, nursing and care and medical teams providing services to children, young people and families accessing the Children's Trust rehabilitation, step down/transition services including international services.

Role Requirements
Provide high quality leisure and activity opportunities for children and young people accessing The Children's Trust rehabilitation and step down/transition services in partnership with other members of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and education services and under the guidance of qualified therapists.
Deliver suitable individualised leisure activities that fit within the child's daily routine whether to be carried out by the post holder, parents, or members of the MDT, in collaboration with parents, carers and the MDT.
Deliver a programme of social, creative, and physical based activities to both individuals and groups which promotes social inclusion.
Deliver lunch time, evening and support nursing and care staff to provide weekend activity clubs and groups
Support the MDT with setting and measuring play, leisure and social goals and contribute to data monitoring through education and therapy reporting systems.
Keep appropriate and accurate intervention records which fulfil legal, professional and the requirements of The Children's Trust.
Work closely with all members of the MDT and the child and family to provide a fully integrated approach to the overall management of the child.
Be autonomous with responsibility for providing leisure interventions for an allocated caseload of children/young people as directed through supervision.
Manage a small caseload of children & young people under the guidance of a qualified therapist
Work with members of the MDT and education team to jointly deliver enrichment week activities and experiences.
Deliver leisure and age respectful activities, both individually and within group settings, as directed by the therapy team.
Support the delivery of assistive technology interventions.
Prepare and order resources required for sessions and in compliance with infection prevention and control guidelines.
Ability and willingness to drive Children's Trust vehicles.
Demonstrate and model safe moving and handling practice in class and on house.
Ensure equipment and toys/ activities are organised and cleaned in line with guidelines for toy cleaning.
Work flexibly across site as needed e.g. with the team in the New Cheyne Centre and The Children's Trust School
Work flexibly in terms of hours including two working weekend day per calendar month.
Actively participate in meetings.

Rehabilitation of Offenders
Many roles at The Children's Trust are exempt from the provisions of Section 4 (2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, by virtue of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020) and as such, are subject to an Enhanced DBS check. Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, which will disclose all unspent convictions and adult cautions and any spent convictions or adult cautions that would not be protected. The exceptions to this are our retail roles within The Children's Trust shops, which are subject to Basic DBS checks which will disclose unspent convictions or adult cautions.
