Out There Indoors is the little sister of Out There Forest School and Kindergarten, one of Bristol's first Forest School Inspired Nurseries. We are a husband and wife partnership operating a Scandinavian-inspired play cafe within the vibrant Paintworks development. We provide an alternative to traditional soft play centres, focusing on natural materials, seasonal resources, and self-directed play that evolves throughout the year.
Our mission is to create a space where both children and parents want to spend time, valuing sustainable and responsibly sourced resources, including high quality food and drink options.
Job Purpose
To help take our small play cafe business to new levels by delivering exceptional early years play experiences, managing customer relationships, creating engaging content, and supporting all aspects of daily operations whilst maintaining our values and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Early Years and Play Sessions
? Plan, prepare and deliver high quality play sessions aligned with our nature-focused philosophy
? Facilitate seasonal pop-up events that reflect our alternative approach to children's play
? Ensure play environments are safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate
? Support children's self-directed play and natural curiosity
Customer Service and Business Development
? Respond to customer enquiries promptly and professionally
? Generate leads for new business opportunities
? Build and maintain relationships with families in our community
? Deliver exceptional customer service that reflects our values
Food and Beverage Service
? Prepare and serve high quality drinks to excellent standards
? Make and serve tasty toasties, salads and other food offerings
? Maintain food safety and hygiene standards
? Ensure all food and drink service aligns with our sustainable sourcing values
Marketing and Social Media
? Help create engaging social media content to keep followers connected with our story
? Develop and maintain our online presence across platforms
? Capture and share the special moments that happen in our space
? Support marketing initiatives and community engagement Operations and Administration
? Maintain the play cafe environment to exceptional standards
? Ensure sustainable and responsible use of resources
? Support general administrative tasks as required
? Contribute to the overall smooth running of daily operations
Essential Requirements
? Experience working with early years children and families
? Understanding of child development and play-based learning
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
? Social media confidence and content creation abilities
? Food and beverage service experience
? Strong organisational and administrative skills
? Passion for sustainable and environmentally responsible practices
? Alignment with our values and philosophy around natural play
? Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Desirable Requirements
? Qualification in early years education or related field
? Experience with seasonal/nature-based programming
? Knowledge of Bristol's family community
? Previous experience in cafe or hospitality environment
? Understanding of small business operations

Monday - Friday, approx. 9:00 - 14:00 (Some flexibility with start and finish times)
