Role Purpose: This is an exciting role for a candidate to join our afterschool club / nursery in our friendly, rural setting. Due to this rural location, public transport is limited so if you are not within walking distance, driving is required.
Reporting to the Manager of the setting, helping delivering wrap around care and activities and ensuring a safe, creative, appropriate play opportunities for children.
Start Date: Immediate start once DBS and reference checks completed.
Type: Part time Term Time Hours: 38 weeks of the year
Hours per week 17. 5 hours per week,
Mon-Friday (afternoons) (14:30pm-18:00 pm)
Additional HOURS during school holidays can to be discussed at interview.
Must hold level 3 in childcare or Play work or equivalent.
Duties of the role include:
Managing the planning, development and delivery of safe, creative, appropriate play opportunities in a fun and caring environment
Responsibility for ensuring the safe arrival of children at the club and the safe signing out to parents/carers at the end of each day
Providing opportunities for children to feedback into the development of the Club
Keeping children safe and minimizing risks in the play environment
Providing snacks/refreshments to the children ensuring that hygiene, health and safety measures are met.
Administering first aid as appropriate
Being responsible for setting up the room, including moving furniture, and tidying the club room at the end of the day
Carrying out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunity's framework
Liaising with parents and involving the Clubs experience
Participate in team meeting
Promoting good communication within the Setting environment,
Working within agreed policies and procedures, being aware of staff responsibilities around the Safeguarding of children in our care.
An enhanced dbs is required for this position( .Can be completed)
Two references are required
Paediatric first aid (Can be completed)
Food hygiene. Can be completed)
