We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for children to play and learn. As a Play Worker, you will support the development of children through play, ensuring their wellbeing while promoting social interaction and creativity.
Duties
Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that stimulate physical, emotional, and social development.
Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging communication and cooperation among peers.
Manage behaviour effectively, promoting respect and understanding within the group.
Maintain a clean and organised play environment, ensuring all equipment is safe and suitable for use.
Communicate with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive approach to childcare and education.
Assist with setting up, tidying, and general club operations.
Follow all Health and Safety protocols and policies, including signing in and out processes.
Salary and benefits:
Students 17: 7.55
Play worker 18+: 10 -13 per hour depending on experience
Skills
Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate children in their activities.
Experience in childcare or early childhood education is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills in English to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to manage groups of children while maintaining a calm and supportive atmosphere.
A background in nursery settings or experience working with young children is advantageous.
A proactive approach to driving engagement through creative play initiatives.
Qualifications:
Childcare experience (Essential)
Relevant childcare qualification Level 2 and or Level 3 (Essential)
Pediatric First Aid certificate (Preferred)
Relevant certificates such as safeguarding etc. (Preferred)
Food Hygiene(Preferred)
DBS(Essential)
