Job Summary: To assist with the day-to-day activities for SEN children attending the Fun Hub CIC holiday clubs. Up to 40 hours per week. Normal holiday club hours 8.00am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday

We are a holiday club that provides fun and exciting activities during the school holidays (Rotherham terms) for children aged 5-18 with special educational needs. We're looking to recruit a fun, enthusiastic, reliable, and trustworthy team of playworkers/carers to provide quality play experiences and care within the framework of the club's policies and procedures.

Training will be given for specific children's needs.

Main duties include:

To be responsible for the safety and welfare of children.

To work within a team environment to help organise, facilitate, and lead a range of play-based activities which could include sports, arts, crafts, games, drama, dance, multi-media and/or adapted activities.

To ensure that The Fun Hub equipment is properly maintained and fit for purpose.

To engage children in a friendly, enthusiastic, and motivated way.

To consult with the children and families and involve them in the planning of activities.

Actively participate in training and development.

Maintain good communication with staff, volunteers, children, young people, and families.

Be aware of, and adhere to, all The Fun Hub's policies and best practice guidelines, including those on Safeguarding, Health and Safety, E-safety.

Encouraging independence and positive self-esteem.

Ensure that play is safe and encourage children to be aware of their own safety and that of others.

Treat the children and young adults as individuals and follow the advice of the parents/carers on how best to support them during the sessions.

Working within the framework of the club's policies and procedures.

Essential Qualities:

*Experience of working with 4- to 11-year-olds and/or 12-18-year-olds

*Fun and open-minded attitude to play

*Understanding the varied needs of children and their families

*Understanding the issues involved in the delivery of quality play care

*An understanding of the SEND Local offer and equal opportunities

*Provide and facilitate safe and creative play

*Good communication skills

*Ability to work effectively within a team and independently

*To ensure the well-being of the children

*Appropriate child protection training

*Current Paediatric First Aid Certificate

*A relevant L3 childcare qualification.

Please note that this post is subject to two satisfactory employment references and an enhanced DBS certificate will be required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 10.10-12.50 per hour
