The Role:





Manchester United Football Club aims to produce a Women's First Team that succeeds, entertains, innovates and inspires. To achieve this we need to recruit, train and play to win.



The purpose of this role is to contribute to a winning women's first team by ensuring players have high quality access to psycho social support so players can focus on their performance without negative distraction.

The role has two distinct functions with the following priorities:



Performance Well-being:

Support the welfare, well-being and mental health of MUFCW players in line with industry best practice and the club's strategy. Work closely with the Medical Team to manage, develop and facilitate the Mental & Emotional Wellbeing strategy. To triage / screen and provide support to players with mental health issues and arrange onward referral in collaboration with the well-being team and club doctor Create and facilitate a mental health, well-being and life skills development programme for players. Help develop and deliver the footballHER plan - this incorporates all aspects of female health, performance, and well-being to develop a game tailored to female footballers. Help deliver the daily wellness monitoring for players with the performance and medical team. To work within a multidisciplinary team to provide personal development and welfare support across MUFCW Pathway

Player Care:

Lead on player care matters for MUFCW players. Communicate relevant information about player care issues to the appropriate staff. Manage any citizenship or community engagement activities. Manage all player departures from the club, supporting upon release and assisting in the transition of players to other clubs, employment, education or training. Work with players on further education and post-football career opportunities. Provide player care support to loan players. Serve as a primary point of contact for players regarding any personal or professional concerns. Provide translation services as needed for players and their families to facilitate communication and understanding. To be the designated safeguarding officer for Womens Football, liaising with MUFC Safeguarding Team

Work Pattern:



The role requires flexibility in working hours due to the dynamic nature of the games and training program.



Skills & Experiences:



Experience:

Previous experience in a player support role, customer service, or administrative position within the sports industry is preferred. Other desired experiences would stem from positions such as athlete liaison, performance lifestyle advisor, or player/ athlete care.

Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality. Proficiency in multiple languages is a must Familiarity with visa application processes and relocation logistics.

Personal Attributes:

A proactive and adaptable approach to work. High level of empathy and cultural sensitivity. Strong team player with the ability to work independently when needed. Passion for sports and a genuine interest in player well-being.
