Job Description

Kinlet Family Playgroup seeks to employ an experienced, enthusiastic, qualified person in our lovely small rural Early Years setting as a Playgroup Assistant, to start ASAP on a temporary ongoing basis until at least July 2026.

The role is to work 3 hours per week on Wednesday afternoons, with additional ad hoc hours to be worked to cover staff absences. Weekly hours have potential to increase over our busy terms or to help with SEN support. (Playgroup operates term time only.)

Candidates must be qualified to Level 2 or higher in Early Years and have recent experience working with children 2-5 years of age within the EYFS framework.

Candidates will ideally have Food Safety, Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding training, but any necessary training will be provided for the right person, and they also will ideally have SEN training and experience, but not this is not essential.

Employment is dependent on Enhanced DBS check and 2 employment references.

Rate of pay is 12.25 per hour (Level 3 qualified staff are occasionally required to provide Supervisory cover at a higher rate of pay).
