Job Summary



As a highly skilled and certified Plumber & Heating Engineer for IDM Energy, you will be a key member of our field operations team, responsible for a wide variety of reactive and planned maintenance, installations, and project work in commercial facilities and domestic properties. The core purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality craftsmanship, achieving a "first-time fix" where possible. You will work efficiently to budgets and instructions, consistently upholding the company's high standards for safety and quality while embodying our core values.

Key Responsibilities & Duties



Heating Systems



Carry out installation, servicing, and repairs on various heating systems (Gas, Oil, LPG, ASHP). Install full central heating systems, including radiators, pipework, and controls. Diagnose and repair faults in heating systems efficiently and safely.

Plumbing Systems



Perform reactive and planned plumbing maintenance, including repairs to leaks, taps, toilets, and drainage systems. Install new kitchens and bathrooms from start to finish. Install, repair, and maintain hot and cold water systems and sanitary ware.

Operational Duties



Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to execute tasks accurately. Complete detailed job reports for every site visit using the company's job management app. Take full responsibility for managing on-site materials, any provided company vehicle, and using client systems when required. Communicate clearly and professionally with clients on-site and work collaboratively alongside other trades.

Experience & Qualifications



A formal qualification in Plumbing & Heating (e.g., City & Guilds, SVQ/NVQ Level 3, or time-served equivalent). Current Domestic Gas Safe registration is essential. Water byelaws qualifications along with vented and unvented tickets are highly diserable. OFTEC and/or LPG qualifications are highly desirable. A renewables qualification is desirable. A minimum of 2 years of time-served experience in a similar, multi-faceted role. A valid CSCS Card. A full, valid UK Driving Licence is essential. The successful candidate must be able to pass Disclosure Scotland and/or Police vetting checks as a requirement for client site access.

Working Conditions



Travel:

May require extensive travel all over Scotland and may involve working away from home.

Physical Demands:

This is a physically demanding role that requires comfort with working in confined spaces, heavy lifting, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Team Environment:

Your work setting will vary; you will be required to work independently, as part of a small team, and sometimes within a larger, multi-trade team on major projects.

Call outs:

From time to time you may be asked to attend out of hours call outs at short notice.
