Henman Dunn is a well-respected plumbing and heating contractor with a loyal, long-standing client base. We are seeking a proactive, experienced, and highly organised Site Manager to join our growing team with an immediate start. This role will predominantly oversee plumbing, heating, gas, and renewable install works for local authority clients in and around the east midlands.
As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of multiple sites, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, to specification, and within budget. You will manage direct labour and subcontractors, liaise with client representatives, ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety and CDM regulations, and drive quality standards across all projects.
This is a management role that requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of plumbing, heating, and renewable installations, and the ability to build effective working relationships with operatives, clients, and end users.
Responsibilities
Oversee all on-site operations.
Manage site teams, subcontractors, and apprentices to deliver works in line with programme requirements.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, CDM 2015, Client specifications & appropriate trade regulations.
Undertake site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular safety inspections.
Coordinate daily work activities and allocate labour efficiently.
Monitor progress against programme and report regularly to senior management and clients.
Ensure quality standards and contractual requirements are met.
Act as main point of contact for both engineers & client representatives.
Manage deliveries, plant, and material usage to ensure efficiency and avoid delays.
Identify risks, defects, or issues early and implement corrective measures.
Assist in training, mentoring, and supporting site operatives and apprentices.
The Ideal Candidate
Proven experience as a Site Manager or similar role in construction.
Background in managing local authority or social housing contracts is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of industry compliance, Health & Safety, and quality standards.
Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Confident in liaising with clients, tenants, and colleagues at all levels.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems effectively on site.
IT literacy to manage reporting, documentation, and scheduling.
Relevant trade or technical qualifications (Gas Safe, NVQ, or equivalent) advantageous.
Education / Qualifications
CSCS card (preferred).
SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred).
NVQ / Gas Safe / ASHP qualifications (desirable).
Full UK Driving Licence (essential max 6 points).
