Temporary role (7 months)
Abingdon & Witney College is looking to recruit an Plumbing Lecturer/ Assessor to join our Technology department.
As a key member of the team, you will work closely with Plumbing students and staff to complete outstanding on-site assessments for both Wet and Gas portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out workplace and simulated assessments for Wet and Gas portfolios
Ensure all assessments meet current awarding body standards and industry best practices
Maintain accurate and up-to-date assessment records
Provide constructive feedback to learners to support their progression
Collaborate with curriculum staff to ensure smooth delivery and coordination of assessments
Support learners to achieve their full potential in both practical and theoretical elements
Essential Requirements:
Recognised Plumbing qualifications (Level 3 NVQ or equivalent)
Gas Safe registered (or recent experience with Gas portfolio assessment)
Assessors qualification (TAQA, A1 or D32/D33)
Relevant industry experience in plumbing and gas installation
Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulations
Strong communication and organisational skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners
Desirable:
Teaching qualification (e.g., Level 3 Award in Education and Training or higher)
Experience working in FE or training environments
Knowledge of awarding body assessment requirements (e.g., City & Guilds, BPEC)+
