The role: PMO Lead
(Project Management Office)

What you'll do:
As a PMO Lead, you will be a key enabler of programme success, ensuring strong governance, delivery discipline, and effective stakeholder communication. Your responsibilities will include:
Coordinating the scoping, mobilisation, and planning of complex initiatives, including estimating costs, resources, and timelines
Managing impact assessments and change requests across scope, budget, and schedule
Driving programme governance by overseeing planning cycles, reporting cadence, and decision-making forums
Tracking and managing risks, issues, dependencies, and resource allocation across the programme
Ensuring accurate forecasting and supporting the prioritisation of work based on business value and delivery readiness
Producing high-quality reports, dashboards, and presentations to support leadership in engaging a wide range of stakeholders
Championing continuous improvement by evolving PMO processes in line with industry best practices and lessons learned
What you'll bring to British Airways:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise presentations and materials that support effective communication with key stakeholders
Proven experience in successfully delivering PMO activities within large-scale programmes, ideally within IT or technology transformation contexts
Ability to influence and engage individuals and teams--both directly and indirectly--while building strong collaborative relationships to drive delivery
Skilled at managing expectations and communicating effectively across all levels of the organisation
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset--able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider programme team
A champion of the "one team" culture, promoting unity and shared ownership across programme teams
Resilient under pressure, with the ability to manage and escalate issues appropriately while seeking clarity when needed
Proficiency in core PMO functions including resource planning, scheduling, and forecasting
Experience in tracking and consolidating budgets, benefits, risks, and dependencies
Capable of coordinating internal and external resources to ensure smooth delivery
Adept at identifying obstacles and implementing actionable plans to maintain momentum and achieve programme goals
Desired experience:
Portfolio Management Office qualification (P3O)
Degree qualification is advantageous but not crucial
Professional Project Management accreditation desirable e.g. Prince2/APMP (Association of Project Management Professionals)
Agile methodology (SAFe Methodology) desirable
