Job Description


We welcome applications from Police Constables to join our South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) Problem Solving Team. We are looking to fill one vacancy at present but anticipate additional vacancies in the near future. Therefore, successful candidates will be held in a pool until those vacancies are confirmed.

The Disruptions Team co-ordinate focused activity against high threat Organised Crime offenders impacting on the South East of England. The team ensure that forces and other agencies have a strategy against each offender, use the full array of controlling legislative powers, offender management techniques and partnership opportunities.

As a Disruptions Coordinator, working in a team of seven and alongside the ROCU Government Agency Intelligence Network (GAIN) coordinator you will assist in identifying the opportunity for disruptions at all levels whilst tackling organised crime problems. You will make police led disruptions more effective by engaging and securing assistance from partners for operational activity. You will make partnership disruptions more effective by securing police resources and undertaking operational activity.

You will bring a focus to organised crime intelligence gathering and disruption to a local policing level through operational teams and act as a hub for best practice sharing throughout the region. You will provide resilience across the wider ROCU capabilities.

We are looking for operational officers with good communication/interpersonal skills. You must be self-motived and able to work on own initiative. You will have experience in one of more of the following areas; crime investigations, providing formal tactical advice for law enforcement operational planning and planning multiagency operational activity. This experience can be via local Policing and we encourage applications from people from all disciplines to apply including but not exclusive to NHPT, Investigations, Intelligence, Response and Roads Policing.

Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC . In order to achieve this, you have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
