Working as part of our Pathways Policy team of four, the postholder will support the development of clear and consistent SCQF pathways policy advice to Scottish Government and our organisation's partners on the use and impact of the SCQF and programmes within a changing education, qualifications and skills system in Scotland, keeping up-to-date with policy and programme developments that could impact successful learning pathways for those who most need support.
Roles and responsibilities
The post-holder will:
Commit to and contribute to delivery of one of SCQFP's strategic priorities: Recognise and Empower(learning).
Contribute to the development of clear, evidence-informed policy advice on learning pathways utilising the SCQF for the Scottish Government and other key partners, reflecting changes in the education, qualifications, and skills landscape in Scotland.
Monitor and analyse Scotland's evolving education and skills policy landscape, that may impact successful learning pathways--particularly for those learners who face most barriers to progression.
Contribute to the drafting of responses to relevant national policy consultations and policy positions to influence the delivery of more equitable and successful learning pathways.
Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to identify and support opportunities for improved recognition, progression, and transferability of learning across sectors and settings.
Support the design, delivery, and evaluation of projects aligned with SCQFP's strategic aims, particularly those enhancing pathway clarity and learner outcomes.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of digital tools, platforms, and content that support learning providers and employers to better utilise the SCQF.
Assist with the planning, delivery and administration of engagement events and consultations to gather insight and share best practice on SCQF learning pathways.
Ensure effective information and document management using platforms such as MS Teams and SharePoint to support team collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Work collaboratively across SCQFP teams and work closely with the Public Affairs & Engagement Lead to ensure policy messages and tools are aligned and coherent across all organisational activity.
Person specification
This role would suit a person with SCQF Level 7 equivalent skills or experience.

Be very competent in the use of MS Office packages and cloud- based storage solutions, including Word, Mail merge, Excel, SharePoint and MS Teams (or similar video communications platform).
Desirable competencies/experience
Familiarity with at least one aspect of Scotland's lifelong learning sector.
Previous experience of policy analysis.
Have an interest and commitment to harnessing AI in a responsible way for organisational benefit.
