About the role
The role involves the growth and refining of Poly Crystalline Materials as part of the production activity at Wafer Technology. This role will involve shift work, alternating between the following shift pattern each week. 3:00pm - 11:00pm Monday to Friday and 7:00am - 3:00pm Monday - Friday the following week.
Your Responsibilities:
Grow III-V semiconductor poly crystalline material (full training provided).
Maintain product quality by processing materials according to instructions.
Undergo cross training on other processes as and when required.
Assist in the delivery of CI initiatives.
Maintain the production data and complete all required records.
Prepare the apparatus in readiness for the synthesis or the zone refining process.
Prepare and start up the synthesis or the refining process.
Monitor and maintain the processes in the Poly Department
Complete/shutdown the processes in the Poly Department.
Maintain the operational standard in accordance with the defined schedule, i.e. clean and prepare items of plant and equipment.
Separate & dispose of by-products and waste as appropriate.
Prepare work areas and equipment for maintenance.
Maintain product quality by processing materials according to instructions.
About you
Attention to Detail - to maintain cleanliness and follow process specifications precisely
Teamwork and ability to work closely and communicate with colleagues
Experience of handling chemicals, awareness of COSHH regulations is desirable
Familiarity with process control and Statistical Process Control techniques would be desirable
Experience and understanding using Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
Open to learning new skills
