06.00 - 14.00, 07.00-15.00, 13.00-21.00, 14.00-22.00, 21.00 - 07.00



Band 2 - 12.21 per hour Monday- Friday



17.22 per hour on Saturdays and 22.34 on Sundays



Are you a friendly, reliable individual who enjoys helping others and working in a team? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? We're looking for Porters to join our dedicated Workplace Team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust.

You'll need to be prepared for varied physical and emotional demands, including working in both warm and cold environments and handling sensitive situations. You'll receive full training and support from day one, including induction, manual handling techniques, and equipment use.

This is a temporary position. You must also have a clean full UK Driving Licence

Key Responsibilities



As a vital part of our Hotel Services Department, you'll provide a comprehensive portering service across our Trust sites. Your duties will include:

Safe and professional movement of patients, equipment, specimens, waste, and supplies

Cleaning and checking equipment, reporting any faults promptly

Working courteously with patients, visitors, and colleagues

Supporting the Trust's onsite and community courier service

Assisting specialist departments (e.g. X-ray, Endoscopy, Emergency, and Theatres)

Dignified conveyance of deceased patients to the Mortuary

Key skills & Qualities:



Full clean UK Driving Licence

Good communication and teamwork skills

Physically fit - able to walk and stand for long periods

Calm under pressure, polite, and professional

Experience in a hospital or hotel services setting (desirable)

Multi-skilled and flexible approach to work (desirable)

Please note successful applicants are required to supply their own safety boots for this role.
