About the role




We are looking for someone to join the Boots Data Platform Team as a Portfolio Analyst. The Portfolio Analyst supports the delivery of projects across the Data Platform portfolio, ensuring adherence to governance frameworks, project lifecycle standards, and financial processes. This role is pivotal in enabling smooth project execution, providing visibility and transparency across initiatives, and driving continuous improvement in PMO practices.

Key responsibilities



Governance & Delivery Support



Ensure compliance with Delivery Governance Frameworks across all Data Platform projects. Coordinate project lifecycle reviews, ensure documentation meets required standards, and facilitate submissions to governance bodies. Ensure project managers are maintaining data quality in PPM tools (e.g., KeyedIn), ensuring timely updates and reporting. Cascade PMO communications and updates to platform teams.

Process & Quality Assurance



Promote continuous improvement of delivery processes and methodologies. Conduct project health checks and quality reviews. Support onboarding and induction of new resources, covering methodology and governance.

Financial & Resource Management



Assist with financial approvals, budget tracking, and invoice processing. Monitor resource utilisation and timesheet compliance, investigating discrepancies. Support demand forecasting and resource planning across the platform.

Reporting & Insights



Develop and deliver reports and dashboards to provide visibility into portfolio health. Support cross-platform reporting and leadership updates in collaboration with IT Finance and PMO.

Stakeholder Engagement & Training



Build strong relationships with project managers, delivery teams, and PMO. Assist with training and guidance on project management best practices, tools, and standards. Participate in Communities of Practice and support knowledge sharing across teams.

What you'll need to have



Current Portfolio Analyst experience Strong understanding of project lifecycles, governance, and PMO operations. Experience in IT environments and project delivery. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Resilience, motivation, and a collaborative mindset.

It would be great if you also have




These are desirable skills or experience and are not essential, so we would welcome applications from candidates that don't match this additional criteria.

Prince2 Foundation or APMP certification. Familiarity with PowerBI Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, KeyedIn). Background in retail or similar sectors.
