About the role

Are you passionate about aligning strategic goals with resource capabilities? As our Portfolio Capacity & Demand Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring NFU Mutual's Enterprise Change Portfolio is resourced to succeed. This is a strategically important role that leads proactive capacity planning across the business and Group Change, enabling delivery teams to operate effectively and efficiently. You'll be at the heart of shaping how we forecast, manage, and optimise resources to support transformational change.



In this leadership role, you'll be responsible for evaluating and sequencing portfolio resource requirements, identifying pinch points, and developing contingency plans to ensure delivery continuity. You'll work closely with resource gatekeepers and the Group Change Leadership team to forecast and validate resource needs, manage demand plans, and contribute to financial planning.



Your insights will support effective governance and decision-making, ensuring that resource-related data drives strategic outcomes. You'll also lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering talent and succession planning to build a strong pipeline for Group Change.



Key responsibilities include:



Leading critical assessments of portfolio resource needs and sequencing recommendations.
Engaging with business resource gatekeepers to forecast and validate capabilities.
Identifying and mitigating resource pinch points across the business.
Managing Group Change resource and demand plans, including budget alignment.
Providing timely, accurate data to support governance and decision-making.
Leading and developing a team to deliver strategic resource planning.

About you

You'll bring a blend of technical expertise and strategic leadership to this role. Your experience in capacity planning, data analysis, and forecasting will be complemented by strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. You'll be confident in managing complex resource plans and influencing senior stakeholders to drive outcomes.



Essential skills and experience:



Proven experience in capacity planning and resource management across portfolios
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in tools such as Excel and Power BI
Experience in forecasting models and data-driven decision-making
Effective project management and budgetary control
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities
Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
Demonstrable leadership experience across cross-functional teams

Qualifications:





Management of Portfolios Practitioner (Essential)
Scaled Agile (SAFe) Lean Portfolio Management (Desirable)
APMG Better Business Cases (5 Case Model) (Desirable)
Management of Value Practitioner (Desirable)
