Specification of the Role:

Must hold ABMU physical intervention training certificate approved under the
British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD)

Hold a Health & Social Care qualification or equivalent (minimum level 3) Hold or attain a Btec level 4 PBS certificate, whilst in post Hold or attain Training qualification e.g. PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, E.A.T. etc Experience of working with computer software packages e.g. Word, Excel &
PowerPoint

Overall Purpose:

Contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring and delivery of PBS
training / programmes and associated course material

Support the PBS Training & Development Officer to meet Innovate Trust's
responsibilities as directed, in ensuring Community Living Services are

compliant with current Positive Behaviour Support best practice, following the

"Reducing Restrictive Practices Framework".

Support and assist the PBS Training & Development Officer to work in
partnership with Innovate Trust Community Living Service and colleagues in

the multidisciplinary team, to deliver, implement and monitor behavioural

support plans for supported individuals, in a person-centred way.

Develop skills, competence and knowledge of staff, so that they can work in a
positive and proactive way to minimise the use of all forms of restrictive

practices

Main Duties:

Coordinate and deliver various types of PBS training to Service Managers and
their teams as well as supporting employees in applying Positive Behavioural

Support systems in the workplace.

To assist with planning and administrating for both internal and external
training including arranging venues, attendance lists, examinations and

equipment etc

Contribute to the continuing improvement of service quality standards in terms
of consultation, operational interaction and support, to satisfy internal quality

assurance and external regulation

To work closely with Service Managers; Assistant managers and Support staff
to promote; inform and establish best practice in PBM related strategies

Comply with legal obligations, ensuring safe practices and working conditions
are maintained

Assist the PBS Training & Development Officer with development of PBS plans. To facilitate hospital, dental and chiropody visits and advance PBM
interventions, alongside the PBS Training & Development Officer

To assist in providing PBS related reports as required by the organisation and
by ABMU

Effectively communicate / liaise with PBS Training & Development Officer,
Manager of Staff Development & Health & Safety, Colleagues, Service

Managers, and relevant others, providing accurate information and feedback

Respect GDPR by maintaining confidentiality of staff and supported
individuals' information and adhere to all data protection legislation

Service Requirement:

To have excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form Attend departmental team meetings on a regular basis To contribute where applicable to the organisation's various working groups,
including H&S, policy groups, training reviews and various other task focused

groups

To role model, promoting a positive image of the services and the organisation Manage workload and time efficiently, in order to meet the needs of the post
and observe any operational deadlines as set by the line manager

Provide IT support as and when required during online training or eLearning To carry out in service observations, role model, coach and mentor teams on
relevant PBS plans/ABC recordings

Support Service Managers and Teams to develop effective PBS data monitoring To travel within the remit of the Supported Living schemes; Innovate Trust's
Offices and to external partner sites as required

Contribute to a data base for all PBS related information and results To complete administration in preparation for training courses, for example
checking bookings, sending reminders and preparing materials for delivery

Assist in internal and external monitoring of the service, providing relevant
information and records as needed by the organisation or the auditor

To complete administration following training courses, including uploading
learner details, registering exams, following up on non-attendance and

marking of assessment material.

To facilitate record keeping and ensure Innovate Trust has accurate records in
terms of staff training.

Work with the PBS Training & Development Officer & H&S Officer to maintain a
database system for recording, reporting and investigating injuries, accidents

and dangerous occurrences

As part of the Quality Assurance Monitoring; support the PBS Training &
Development Officer to prepare and coordinate PBS audits for internal and

external purposes; identifying recommendations within agreed timescales.

Contribute to annual restrictive practices reviews
Organisational:

To ensure the safety and protection of vulnerable adults according to the
Protection of Vulnerable Adults policies and procedures

Have awareness of and comply with INNOVATE TRUST'S equal opportunities

policies and procedures

Contribute to the overall development of the service and promote a positive
image of supported individuals and the organisation

Monitor, maintain and promote health and safety and security in the
workplace adhering to INNOVATE TRUST'S health and safety policy.

Take responsibility for own continuous professional development (CPD) and
contributing to identification of strengths and needs.

Prepare for, attend and engage in supervision, annual review and performance
reviews accepting and providing constructive feedback.

Attend and participate in all training and development opportunities, both
internal and external.

To engage with relevant professional bodies for example BILD, ABMU and
Social Care Wales

The preceding duties are neither exhaustive nor exclusive and you may be required

to carry out other duties that are deemed necessary and reasonably fall within the

scope of this post. All Staff should be aware that although they may be appointed

to a specific project, scheme or development they must be willing to undertake

similar duties in other INNOVATE TRUST'S services either on a temporary or

permanent basis. (All staff will be fully consulted about any proposed change.)
