About the Role - Positive Behaviour Support Worker

As a Positive Behaviour Support Worker, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional care to individuals with complex needs. Working closely with Behaviour Specialists, the multidisciplinary team, and the wider staff group, you will support the implementation of person-centred care plans, behavioural support strategies, and risk management approaches.

Your role will involve supporting individuals with daily living activities, encouraging independence, assisting with emotional regulation, and maintaining a safe, calm, and positive environment. You will also contribute to incident responses, reflective practice, accurate documentation, and the effective day-to-day running of the service. This is a hands-on and rewarding role, offering the opportunity to make a genuine and lasting impact.

Skills & Abilities (Essential)

Calm, resilient, and confident when working in a complex care environment. Positive and consistent in your approach, maintaining high-quality support following incidents or periods of distress. Team-focused, contributing constructively to a supportive and collaborative workplace culture. Practical and solution-focused, with the ability to support individuals with everyday domestic and life-skill tasks. Strong communication skills, with basic numeracy, literacy, and administrative competence. An attentive listener, able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. Organised and creative, capable of managing workload effectively and adapting approaches when challenges arise. Respectful, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications

Desirable (not essential):



A vocational qualification in Health & Social Care.
Knowledge (Desirable)

Awareness or working knowledge of Autism, Learning Disabilities, and Mental Health needs, with the ability to follow individualised support strategies (full training will be provided). Understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities within a care setting.
Experience

Essential:



A minimum of one year's experience as a Support Worker or in a comparable care role.

Desirable:



Experience working within Positive Behaviour Support frameworks. Experience supporting individuals with complex needs or behaviours of concern. Experience working with people who have significant communication differences. Familiarity with CPI Safety Intervention principles.
Other Requirements

Willingness to work flexibly across a range of shifts, including weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins. Commitment to completing mandatory training through e-learning and face-to-face sessions.
