Hours: Contracted 6 hours per week (extra hours may be available)

Salary: 26k FTE (4,160)

Reporting To: Post Diagnostic Lead

Contract: 12-month fixed term with a view to making permanent

The Adult Autism Service at the Retreat Clinics in York are looking for a Post Diagnostic Assistant to support our NHS Post Diagnostic Offer.

This exciting new opportunity is to support autistic adults who have received an autism diagnosis using lived experience to understand what it means to be autistic.

As this is a new role this is initially a temporary position for 12 months with the possibility of becoming permanent.

It is essential candidates have received their own autism diagnosis so that they can support others who have completed their assessment.

The role will be initially to support our Post Diagnostic Lead with Post Diagnostic groups and there may be scope for additional work and hours in the future.

You will be working for an organisation that makes a difference and with a long history of focusing on helping to improve the lives of our clients. Our adult Autism service provides NHS funded assessments for adults seeking an autism diagnosis. We also provide NHS funded ADHD assessments and specialist psychological therapy for neurodivergent clients, as well as both private and NHS funded occupational therapy and sensory assessments. We are committed to providing accessible and inclusive services to our clients, in line with our core values of compassion, collaboration and community building.

You will work alongside a passionate multidisciplinary team comprising of Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Nurses, Senior Clinicians, Post Diagnostic Lead, Expert by Experience and administrative support.
