We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled part time (0.2 fte) Research Assistant to join the Oxford School of Nursing and Midwifery. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and validation of the Doctoral and Academic Writing Scale in Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied Health Professions (DAWNMAHP). This is a six-month study funded by Oxford Health (BRC).
Working closely with Dr Marion Waite and her team, you will support the recruitment of participants, data collection and cleaning, statistical analysis, and dissemination of findings through reports and presentations.
Key responsibilities:
Work closely with Dr Waite and team on the 'DAWNMAHP' study.'
Recruit participants from relevant health and educational organisations
Collect, clean, and analyse research data using statistical software
Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations
Support the validation of the DAWNMAHP scale
Responsibility for planning and carrying out empirical l work, keeping accurate laboratory notebooks, data analysis & interpretation and report writing
Assist in recruiting participants from educational organisations
You should have:
PhD or near completion of a doctoral degree in a relevant subject
Recent experience in research within higher education or applied health
Intermediate-level skills in statistical analysis, including:
Data collection and cleaning
Inferential statistical techniques
Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, or similar)
Strong communication, teamwork, and flexibility.
