Job description
A front-line role that requires working with the general public across a range of transactions. Typical activities on daily basis include, serving with Mails, Banking, Currency and others transactions such as bill payment.
The post office provides mail service for Royal Mail, Parcelforce and we also now work alongside DPD, Amazon and Evri.
Due to High Street Banks closing their branches, we have become even busier with banking transactions. This includes both business and personal customer's deposits and withdrawals.
You will be dealing face to face with customer enquiries in branch, helping them with several other services maximising sales opportunities and making referrals.
Excellent numeracy skills are essential for this fast-paced role.
Experience of handling Cash is preferred.
Experience of working with the general public in a customer facing role is essential.
Full training on Post Office Computer System will be given, how to process Mails, Banking and Currency transactions along with other services that the Post Office provides. You must be keen to learn about all our products and services, so you are able to share your knowledge with customers. Full Compliance tests must be completed including Data Protection, Financial Services and Security and Mails Compliance.
Candidates must be confident, reliable and trustworthy and able to build strong working relationships with existing and new customers. A team player, candidates must be able to work strongly independently and as part of a team, be resilient and remain positive, friendly and approachable whilst working under pressure.
Working hours will be 30 to 45 per week, Monday - Friday and some Saturdays. Our opening hours are Mon 8:30 - 5:30, Tue - Fri 9am - 5.30pm. Saturday 9am - 1pm. Flexibility is required to work different shift patterns. You will be required to work additional hours to cover Annual Leave and Sickness.
The position is at times very busy role, and you will be needed to work with speed and accuracy.
