We are looking for a caring and reliable Shop Floor Assistant to join our busy Post Office and retail store. We are looking at 24 Hrs a week Contract. Shift timing 1pm to 8pm. Two days a week leave. Our shop is at the heart of the local community, with many of our customers being senior citizens who value courtesy, patience, and respect. Your role will be to provide excellent customer service, keep the shop floor well presented, and support day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
Greeting and assisting customers with warmth and respect, especially senior citizens and vulnerable customers
Helping customers find items, carry shopping if needed, and providing a friendly face on the shop floor
Maintain an organised and visually appealing shop environment through effective merchandising.
Process transactions accurately using the till system.
Assisting with Post Office and till operations when required
Skills
Strong communication skills in English; multilingual or bilingual abilities (particularly in Spanish) are highly desirable.
Basic math skills for handling transactions and stock management.
Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
Strong organisational skills to maintain a tidy and efficient workspace.
Experience in merchandising to create attractive product displays.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: 12.21-12.50 per hour

Burnham-on-Sea TA8 1AL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
