37 - Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 4.00pm

Friday 8.00am - 3.30pm

30 minutes for lunch per day

Contract:

Permanent - Term Time Only

The Post-16 Academic Mentor supports sixth form students by way of timetabled study, pastoral interventions, pathway support and bespoke academic support plans

Your role will involve identifying a cohort of students who need academic support, these students may have:

A high volume of missed deadlines Teacher/Post 16 team concern relating to work completion, organisation or approach to independent learning SEND/EHCP status Y11 transition concerns


Your duties will include:

Providing students with the skills and qualities required to increase their levels of independence in the future Contacting and/or meeting with parent/carers to increase engagement in student support plans/contracts Liaising with the Post 16 Administrator to make changes to students' Timetabled Study allocation where appropriate e.g. during contract procedure or following a progress review Working with the Post 16 Safeguarding Lead to ensure identified cohort is supported in terms of SEMH Working with the Careers Coordinator to ensure students are motivated by a suitable Post 18 pathway. Meeting students on a 1-to-1 basis, particularly where students are not pursuing a UCAS application
