The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant to join our team based at IGC (ECRC) for a one year post. We are using CRISPR-edited human cells and novel transgenic models in mice to examine how these mutations affect the liver's response to damage and explore the link between injury and metabolic re-programming.

Ideally, the post holder should have experience of animal work, cell culture, tissue processing and will be able to perform laboratory analyses of human and mouse tissue including genotyping, IHC, rt-PCR, western blotting and prepare samples for external providers (transcriptomics, metabolomics). A large proportion of the work will be based on animal experiments; a PIL is a desired but not an essential requirement for the post. Experience of in vivo models of liver cancer and/or liver disease would be highly desirable.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.
