We are seeking a full-time post-doctoral research assistant to join the Dynamic Optics and Photonics research group at the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford). The post is funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and is fixed-term to 31-Dec-25.
The research project you will be employed on investigates the materials science surrounding liquid crystalline resins for use in two-photon polymerization. New forms of imaging hardware will be utilized in collaboration with partners to provide greater understanding of the polymer network morphology and how it relates to the laser process parameters. Specifically, you will carry out high resolution Raman imaging on laser written polymer networks with liquid crystal resins. Additionally, you will develop new phase microscopy hardware to provide real-time feedback on the polymer network during laser processing.
About you
You should possess (or be near to completion) of a PhD in optical engineering or a closely related discipline. You will have experience in two-photon polymerization, liquid crystal physics and optical imaging. Your publication record should reflect your career stage.
