Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Physical and Theoretical Chemistry Laboratory to work under the supervision of Professor Adam Kirrander for a period of 12 months in the first instance, with potential to extend. The project involves advanced theory for new ultrafast imaging experiments and is funded by Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) UK.

About you
Applicants must hold a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, or a relevant subject area or be close to completion, prior to taking up the appointment. The research requires experience in electronic structure theory. Experience in R-matrix theory, quantum molecular dynamics, and the calculation of observables, as well as coding and method development, is highly beneficial. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of research that involves multiple national and international collaborators and to meet deadlines.
The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, Physical and Theoretical Chemistry Laboratory, South Parks Road and is available as soon as possible.
