The work is focused on the optimisation of system design to maximise performance and ensure excellent market-fit. The post involves lab-based design, assembly and testing of systems and components. Additional to the lab work, the project involves an element of customer engagement, working with end-users to trial and develop the technology.
Key Duties and Responsibilties
Conduct and disseminate original research aligned with the project and in collaboration with the team
Undertake design, assembly and testing of systems and components with a key focus on product-market fit
Work as part of the broader commercialisation team (business development, industry partners etc) to help organise events and/ or support the work of the team as needed
Contribute to impact engagement activities of the project, liaising with industry partners and potential end-users of the technology
Identify appropriate sources of funding and help prepare proposals for funding bodies and investors
Demonstrate initiative in making routine decisions in order to manage and achieve project deliverables and deadlines
Participate in, and develop, networks and collaborations both internally and externally to the Division/School /University
Any other duties, commensurate with the grade of the post

Knowledge of the water industry and water monitoring protocols; and/or other application areas where pathogen concentration is an important element, e.g. healthcare, biotech, aquaculture, food and drink
PhD in relevant discipline (or close to successful completion) or equivalent industry experience
Evidence of success in delivering on externally funded research projects
Evidence or knowledge to support commercialisation activities
