The Oxford Vaccine Group, led by Professor Teresa Lambe OBE, is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated scientist to join our team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the
design and development of next-generation vaccines
targeting
outbreak pathogens
, with a particular focus on
filoviruses, Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) virus, and other high-consequence viral threats
.
The successful applicant will play a central role in the
design, optimisation, and testing of viral vector and mRNA-LNP vaccine candidates
, aimed at inducing
robust, long-lived, and cross-protective immune responses
. The project will prioritise vaccine strategies that confer
heterologous protection
and enhance both
humoral and cellular immunity
, contributing directly to global outbreak preparedness.
The post holder will work collaboratively with other members of the Lambe Group and the broader Oxford Vaccine Group, and will provide
scientific input and mentorship
to postdoctoral researchers, research assistants, technicians, and postgraduate students.
You will be working in a growing department within the Medical Sciences Division. The Department of Paediatrics is a world leader in child health research and hosts internationally renowned research programmes in drug development, gastroenterology, haematology, HIV, immunology, neuroimaging, neuromuscular diseases and vaccinology.
This position is offered full-time on a fixed-term contract initially for one year with the possibility to extend provided further external funding is available.
