We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Pot Washer/Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced culinary environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen interest in the hospitality industry. This role is essential in supporting our kitchen staff and ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.

Duties

Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Help with the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations during service periods. Ensure that all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times. Assist in inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the head chef. Support the team during busy periods by ensuring timely delivery of food items to service areas. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations. Ensure the Pots are washed and wiped properly for the areas.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment, such as a restaurant or hotel, is preferred but not essential. A basic understanding of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology is advantageous. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting. Excellent communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively within a team. A passion for hospitality and a desire to learn more about the culinary arts. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
