Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for turning complex data into clear, actionable insight--supporting informed decision-making across the business. This role offers the chance to work closely with senior stakeholders, shape how information is used day-to-day, and contribute directly to operational and commercial outcomes.
About JTS Solutions Ltd
JTS Solutions Ltd is a specialist consultancy supporting operational, performance, and reporting improvement across infrastructure-led sectors, with a strong footprint in the UK water industry. We work hands-on with clients to bring clarity to data, strengthen governance, and improve how decisions are made on the ground. The business continues to grow, with increasing demand for practical, insight-led reporting and lightweight digital tools that support delivery teams and leadership.
This role is initially part-time, with a clear expectation that--subject to performance and workload--it will grow into a full-time position in the medium term. Rates and commercial terms will be agreed as the role develops.
Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and refine dashboards and reports using Power BI and Tableau to present key performance and operational metrics.
Design and support Power Apps solutions to capture, validate, and streamline operational and reporting data at source.
Analyse large and varied datasets using SQL, R, Python, and VBA, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications that reflect real business needs.
Design and maintain database structures, ensuring data quality, integrity, and efficiency across Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
Manage reporting and data solutions through the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from concept through to delivery and refinement.
Support wider business analysis activity by producing insight that informs planning, prioritisation, and operational decisions.
Use Visio to document processes, data flows, and reporting logic where required.
Improve data workflows and automation using Bash (Unix shell) scripting where appropriate.
Skills
Strong experience with Power BI and Tableau for data visualisation and reporting.
Hands-on experience building and supporting Power Apps, ideally integrated with Power BI and SQL data sources.
Advanced SQL capability, with experience in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
Working knowledge of R, Python, VBA, and Bash.
A solid understanding of SDLC principles and structured delivery.
Confidence in business analysis, data modelling, and database design.
Ability to explain complex data clearly and practically to non-technical stakeholders.
Comfortable using Visio for process mapping and documentation.
Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple workstreams without losing sight of priorities.
This role will suit someone who enjoys working close to the detail, likes building tools that genuinely get used, and wants to grow alongside a consultancy where good data--and clear thinking--really matters.
