This role is a key addition to the Data & Analytics team, responsible for ensuring the effective management, maintenance, and optimisation of our Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environments. The role is crucial in supporting data-driven decision-making across the organisation, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility for business users.



The Power BI / Microsoft Fabric Administrator will oversee the administration and performance of Power BI workspaces, datasets, and reports. This includes managing system resources, optimising data refresh processes, ensuring compliance with governance policies, and enabling self-service analytics adoption across teams. The role will work closely with stakeholders across IT, Finance, support functions and business units to maximise the value derived from Power BI and Fabric capabilities.###

What you will be doing:



Data Architecture & Administration

Develop and maintain curated dataset frameworks (30%) Create and standardise reports for business intelligence (30%) Manage system administration tasks, including capacity and resource allocation (10%) Enable self-service analytics by upskilling business users (30%) Implement and enforce data security measures and access controls Monitor and optimise system performance and cost efficiency Configure and maintain Power BI workspaces and Microsoft Fabric capacities Establish and maintain governance policies and data standards

Analytics & Reporting

Design and implement reusable report templates Develop interactive dashboards and reports for key business metrics Create and maintain semantic models to standardise reporting Validate data accuracy and consistency in both reports and original systems Automate data refresh schedules and performance monitoring



Agile Delivery & Project Management


Work within Scrum methodology to deliver BI solutions Manage backlog items using Azure DevOps Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives Track project progress using Azure DevOps dashboards Maintain technical documentation in Confluence



Business Process Support

Support the transition to modern, scalable BI infrastructure Improve data visualisation capabilities to drive better decision-making Increase adoption of self-service analytics tools Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for business users Document solutions and create user guides


Technical Learning & Development

Stay updated on Power BI and Microsoft Fabric updates Train and support users in self-service reporting capabilities Document environment configurations and best practices Build a knowledge base for common issues and questions Evaluate and adopt new Fabric capabilities where beneficial

What you will need:





A minimum of 3 years demonstrable track record of successful delivery of Power BI in an enterprise environment Expertise in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service Strong understanding of Microsoft Fabric capabilities Experience with Data Factory and Synapse Analytics Proficiency in DAX and M Query language Expertise in data modelling, governance, and security Experience with data warehousing and reporting



Certifications (Preferred)



Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst / Fabric Analytics Engineer Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (desirable) ITIL Foundation Certification (beneficial) Experience


At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Fabric Demonstrated success in implementing BI solutions at scale Experience managing Power BI Premium capacities Background in data governance and compliance Proven track record in driving user adoption of BI tools Experience integrating various data sources into Power BI Strong track record in enterprise reporting and optimisation
