We're recruiting for a global manufacturer specialising in motor control systems. They're expanding their R&D capability and looking to hire a Power Electronics Design Engineer to join the Power Stage Design team.

The role involves the design, simulation, and testing of variable frequency drives used across a wide range of industrial applications. This position offers real engineering responsibility, with involvement from concept through to final product.

Key Responsibilities

Design and simulation of power electronic circuits
Schematic capture and PCB layout
Prototyping, testing, and fault-finding
Support for EMC-compliant product development
Collaboration with firmware and mechanical design teams

Requirements

Essential:

Degree or equivalent in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
Experience designing and testing power electronics circuits
Proficient with schematic capture and PCB layout tools
Understanding of AC motor control systems
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

Experience with high power drives (e.g. 1000A, 600kW systems)
Altium Designer
Simulation tools such as MATLAB or PSIM
EMC compliance (conducted and radiated emissions)
DSP firmware development
Master's or PhD in a relevant discipline

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 50,000.00-60,000.00 per year
