We are an aspiring organisation and we are looking for a skilled Powertrain Calibration Engineer to join our established team responsible for developing powertrain systems for our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding ICE/HEV software logic and proposal of calibration settings adhering to Nissan standards to achieve performance targets
  • Validating the performance of Nissan vehicles to ensure compliance with all relevant EU, UN and National Regulations for Emissions and On-Board Diagnostics (OBD)
  • Management of test activities on in-house and 3rd party test facilities to keep Project schedule
  • Checking, processing and technical analysis of test data to validate test results and to investigate concerns and propose countermeasures
  • Creation of test reports and presentation to internal stakeholders
  • Supporting the technician group to ensure test activities are completed to the right level of quality and timing
  • Liaising with global Nissan powertrain teams to plan validation and calibration campaigns
Skills & Experience:
  • An understanding of fundamental powertrain systems operation, including ICE and HEV
  • Knowledge of current European Emissions and OBD regulation
  • Experience in calibration of ICE parameters to achieve performance targets
  • Experience in Engine Bench Test and/or Chassis Dynamometer testing
  • Experience with industry standard powertrain test, measurement and data analysis tools (for example ETAS INCA/MDA, AVL Concerto/CRETA, MATLAB)
  • Skill/experience of test planning and management
  • Good communication and status reporting skills
  • Intermediate/Advanced level MS Excel capability
  • Root cause, failure analysis and problem solving skills
  • Degree level qualification in a relevant subject
