Main Responsibilities - Copywriting & Content Creation Write, edit, and proofread engaging copy for campaigns, press releases, website, newsletters, social media, supporter communications, hospice literature and fundraising materials. Ensure all content is consistent with brand tone of voice, messaging, and style guidelines. Identify and craft compelling narratives that highlight our brand's unique value proposition and position it as an authority in the community. Create compelling case studies and human-interest stories to inspire and engage audiences.
Manage our patient and family care stories database so that stories and consent can easily be accessed. Work closely with the Inpatient Unit, Family Support Team, Education Team and Community Team to identify stories and content opportunities. Media Relations and PR Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies to increase positive media coverage and enhance brand awareness and reputation. Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists across various media sectors to secure earned media coverage.
Draft and distribute press releases, media statements, and feature pitches. Act as the first point of contact for press enquiries. Liaise sensitively and professionally with service users and their loved ones. Monitor media coverage and produce regular reports on PR impact.
Work with Fundraising and communication colleagues to support campaign and event planning and promotion. Promote a culture of care, respect and gratitude for all gifts, donations, support and those who share their story with us. Ensure case study contributors are informed of any future repurposing of their story. Strategic Communications Work closely with the wider Marketing & Communications team to ensure copy and PR activity supports organisational objectives.
Identify opportunities for thought leadership and positioning of key spokespeople. Help identify quotes from our care story archive to support new marketing materials. Contribute to crisis communications planning and response. Measurement & Reporting Track and evaluate the impact of PR campaigns and content performance.
Use insights to improve reach, engagement, and effectiveness of communications.
