Main Responsibilities

:


Media Relations & Press Office




Day-to-day press office activity, managing all proactive and reactive media enquiries. Build strong relationships with journalists across legal, healthcare, consumer, and regional media. Draft press releases, statements, case stories, and Q&As to secure high-quality coverage. Act as the point of contact for crisis or reputational risk comms, working closely with senior leadership and legal.

Thought Leadership & Storytelling




Identify opportunities for lawyers and business leaders to contribute expert commentary and opinion. Develop compelling thought leadership content and secure media placements to build credibility and visibility. Work with marketing and digital colleagues to repurpose media content across owned and social channels.

Campaign Integration




Contribute PR strategy to wider marketing campaigns, ensuring media outreach aligns with go-to-market objectives. Support product/service launches, events, or RB activity with integrated comms plans.

Reputation, Risk & Governance




Monitor media coverage, sentiment, and reputation risks; provide timely updates and reports. Ensure all public-facing communications reflect brand values, comply with SRA and legal advertising standards, and support corporate positioning. Support internal comms, awards entries, or executive visibility as needed.

Collaboration & Team Culture




Work collaboratively with colleagues across marketing, business development and legal teams. Actively contribute to an integrated, insight-driven team culture focused on audience impact and strategic outcomes.

Essential Skills and Experience:




Essential




Proven experience in a PR or external communications role, ideally in professional services, healthcare, legal, or related sectors. Excellent media relations and copywriting skills with a strong news sense. Experience managing reputational risk and handling sensitive or high-profile media enquiries. Ability to communicate complex or technical subjects in a clear, engaging way. Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and under time-sensitive conditions.

Desirable




Experience working in a regulated environment or with legal/clinical subject matter. Familiarity with media monitoring, social listening, and PR measurement tools. Experience supporting awards, thought leadership or CSR visibility campaigns. Knowledge of SRA guidance or advertising regulations for legal communications.
