Job Description

First Class Support provides academic support to students of all ages and abilities. We pride ourselves on only employing first class support workers that are passionate about making a difference to the lives of people studying higher education courses across the UK.

We are recruiting for a

Practical Assistant based in Manchester, for a student studying Computer Science.

Your responsibility will be to provide practical and mobility support for a student with a physical and/or psychological impairment. This may include helping with the movement of a wheelchair or carrying books & IT equipment. Your responsibilities will also cover general orientation and assisting a student with local certain areas and locations.

This is an enriching role, that will improve the quality of a student's time at university.

We are looking for candidates with experience or understanding of providing support for disabled adults and demonstrate a willing to gain thorough knowledge of the campus. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills.

Due to the nature of the students course we are looking for candidates with a Computer Science background or understanding.

Please Note:

The working hours vary according to the needs of the student and the academic timetable. Due to the nature of the role, our support workers are required to be registered or become registered Self Employed.

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: 12.25 per hour

Work Location: In person
