Job Description

This is an opportunity to work in a small, friendly, prestigious practice specialising in the conservation of historic buildings, museums and collections. We work with clients in the UK and abroad, including The Palace of Westminster, St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, King's College Cambridge, Canterbury Cathedral, The National Trust and English Heritage. The role entails general office administration, including support with financial management, project coordination, and assisting the Partners and associates.

Responsibilities



o Support with day-to-day financial management, including invoicing, supplier payments, staff expenses, and liaising with our bookkeeper and payroll providers.

o Using software including Microsoft Office (Experience with Xero and Smartsheet an advantage).

o Proofreading company invoices and other financial documents.

o Updating records and databases with personnel, financial and other data.

o Assisting with the coordination and delivery of projects.

o Assisting with Partners' travel arrangements.

o Responding to telephone calls, emails, letters and other communications.

o Management of compliance documentation, including health and safety and IT security.

o Keeping stock of and maintaining supplies of stationery and office equipment.

Person Specification



o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - face to face, email and telephone

o Strong administrative and organisational skills with the ability to multitask and work methodically using own initiative and to tight timescales

o Experience of bookkeeping and office financial management

o Experience with office administration procedures

o Ability to compose written correspondence to a high standard and in fluent English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation

o Self-motivated and competent in prioritising and working with little supervision

o Reliable, adaptable, trustworthy and patient

o Must live within daily travelling distance of our office and have the right to work in the UK
