Job Description

To support the Band 7 Ward Managers and Advanced Nurse Practitioners to implement an education and staff development plan for the Acute Medical Units across three sites of ABUHB. To ensure service delivery is of a high professional standard in line with Local Organisational and National Guidelines. The

post holder will ensure service delivery is of a high professional standard that is in line with ABUHB policies and values.

As a professional nurse the Clinical Practice Educator is responsible for the provision of specialist, knowledge, support

and assistance requiring a high degree of dexterity, precision, accuracy and prolonged concentration to patients, nursing

and medical staff.

The post holder is required to support and maintain an effective environment for learning within the Acute Medical Units through teaching, assessing, coaching, and staff development in a variety of settings. The post holder will

adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct (2018)

To work alongside the Band 7 Practice Development Nurse to formulate a bespoke plan for meeting clinical educational

needs of individuals or a group of individuals

To work alongside the Acute Medical Unit nurses clinically to provide education within their environment. To work alongside newly appointed staff (including newly qualified) to the Acute Medical Units and established nursing

colleagues to identify the knowledge skills gap of individuals. Provide feedback to those individuals and the education

team to collaboratively formulate and deliver plans to meet individual needs.

To work with the Band 7 Ward Managers and Advanced Nurse Practitioners to design and deliver teaching sessions to all staff within Acute Medicine.
