Due to to retirement, we have a
Practice Manager
opportunity available on a
full-time
basis. This is the first time in over 10 years that this position has been advertised and provides a rare chance to join the firm in such a significant and influential role . The position will be site based , ideally from our Bournemouth office located in
Southbourne
, but as we have offices across the region, a request to be located in one of these can be considered. In addition, there will be the opportunity to work one day from home following the probation period.
The Practice Manager has a multifaceted role in the Firm. They maintain the smooth and efficient running of the practice by supervising and managing staff where required as well as assisting the Partners and Finance Director to manage and develop the business. There will be a requirement to travel to our other offices and to external venues for meetings in order to meet the needs of this role.
Key responsibilities will include:
Being part of the Business Management Team (BMT) which oversees all of the general management of the practice (with the exception of fee earners) and ensure decisions from those meetings are implemented and agreed actions are distributed accordingly.
Managing the Practice Admin function and team members
Coordinating the information required for application for Professional Indemnity insurance and apply for the same; liaising with brokers as required
Arranging meetings related to Heads of Department (HODs), BMT and Partners meetings.
Being responsible for Health & Safety across the Firm
Being the Data Protection Officer (DPO) for the Firm
Liaising with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) as and when required
This position will suit someone who has worked in a similar role, ideally within the legal or professional services sector. It requires a person who is structured, organised and administrative by nature. They should be approachable, able to initiate and implement new ideas, lead change and have strong coordination skills. The ability to tie up all the loose ends and finish a job will be of importance. Maintaining quality and standards will be priority. The business requires a focus on profit, efficient working practices, and the person will be required to identify and drive change to improve productivity where applicable.

Salary guide:
Salary is from 50,000+ per annum (this is a guide only and any subsequent salary offer will depend on level of skills, knowledge and experience)
Hours:
Standard contractual hours are Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break (35 hours per week).
