Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and proactive

Practice Manager

to lead the daily operations of this busy equine veterinary practice. This role involves managing people, processes, compliance, and client service, ensuring smooth workflow and supporting the ongoing growth of the practice. This is a key position within a high-performing team working at the forefront of equine sports medicine.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Administration

Manage day-to-day practice operations and workflow. Coordinate clinician and support-team scheduling. Ensure compliance with RCVS, H&S, GDPR, and regulatory standards. Oversee stock control, procurement, supplier relations, and cost management. Maintain practice policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Financial Management

Support budgeting, financial forecasting, and reporting. Oversee billing, invoicing, debtor management, and financial records. Identify opportunities to improve financial efficiency and profitability.

Client & Stakeholder Relations

Provide excellent client communication and manage escalated queries. Support client experience and service improvement initiatives. Build relationships with referring vets, suppliers, and industry partners.

Team Leadership & HR

Line-manage administrative and support staff. Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management. Support rota planning, welfare initiatives, and team culture.

Strategic Development

Support practice growth, service development, and project planning. Contribute to marketing, branding, and client engagement efforts. Use data insights to improve efficiency, client satisfaction, and workflow.

What We're Looking For

Essential

Experience in practice management, operations, or business administration. Background in veterinary, equine, medical, or clinical settings. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency with practice management software and office systems. Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving ability.

Desirable

Knowledge of equine sports medicine or the equestrian sector. Understanding of RCVS standards and veterinary compliance. HR or financial management qualifications (or equivalent experience).
