An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our friendly and expanding practice team.
:
To provide a range of high quality general nursing services and specialist nursing advice and care to patients.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
Working autonomously
Chronic disease management
Wound management including dressings
Child and adult immunisations
Travel vaccinations
Screening
Health promotion
Ear care
Emergency management anaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques
Child health/child protection
Performing ECGs
Venepuncture and requesting pathology testing
Infection control
Telephone triage
Chaperoning and assisting patients and tidiness of nurses rooms
Ordering of supplies as necessary
Effectively and appropriately communicate with the multi-disciplinary team regarding the care of individual patient
Attend and participate in clinical and practice meetings when required
Proactive in identifying own needs for personal and professional development
Aware of the responsibility of all employees to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients staff and visitors
Ensure all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard and in accordance with any current quality initiatives
Provide patient care in accordance with current PGDs and clinical protocols
Any other duties as required
Qualifications (essential):
Qualified RGN/RN
NMC registered
Desirable
Chronic disease management
Trained in COPD and Asthma
