We're looking for a strategic and creative person to join our Research Excellence team as
Practice Research Support Manager
. In this pivotal role, you'll champion practice research across Manchester Met, ensuring non-traditional outputs are recognised for their originality, significance, and rigour. The role also offers a significant opportunity to shape and promote the profile of practice research across the wider sector.
What you'll do:
Support researchers in developing high-quality digital portfolios for REF and beyond.
Document and communicate research processes and insights, transforming them into compelling outputs.
Create guidance, toolkits, and training that empower practice researchers to share their work effectively.
Build strong internal and external networks to position Manchester Met at the forefront of practice research.
Lead services and reporting that ensure our practice research community is fully supported and celebrated.
What we're looking for:
Deep knowledge of practice-based research in a higher education context.
Experience supporting the development and communication of non-traditional research outputs.
Confidence in shaping guidance, policy, and training for diverse research communities.
Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior leaders and external partners.
A passion for advancing practice research and embedding it within a dynamic, inclusive research culture.
