Job Description

We are looking for an experience nurse who will be responsible for providing an efficient and safe service for patients attending Pre-Operative Assessment Clayton Department. They need experience using problem solving skills and critical thinking to determine if a patient is safe to proceed with surgery or needs to be deferred. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams such as waiting list, GP's, Anaesthetists and theatres the nurses will assess a patient's current health and medical history, plan next steps prior to surgery and evaluate outcomes and investigations for optimisation before surgery. Commence necessary planning for perioperative care and maintain close liaisons with staff concerned with planning and scheduling patient admissions.

Initiate and follow through investigations and referrals to other health care professionals according to agreed protocols.
