About Us



Slinfold C E Primary School and Pre-school are looking for an enthusiastic Pre-School Assistant to join our Friendly Pre School team.



We are a 28 place setting set within the beautiful grounds of Slinfold CE Primary School.


The successful candidate will need to be engaging and dedicated, with a wiliness to develop their skills whilst providing a healthy environment for all children in our care. The Pre-school has a close working relationship with the School and local community.


We Are Looking For Someone Who:




Has experience working with children in a school or early years setting. Understands the importance of inclusion and child-centred learning. Is patient, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with children. Communicates clearly and works well as part of a team. Is confident working under the direction of the Headteacher and other staff. Has (or is willing to gain) relevant qualifications in supporting teaching and learning (e.g. Level 2 or 3). Child Protection, First Aid, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety, Manual Handling certificates.

31.15 hours per week



8.30am - 3.10pm (Mon to Friday)



Grade 4 point 5



Permanent - Hourly Rate 13.26



Term time only - 38 weeks worked per year



Closing date: Friday 13th February 2026



Interview date - Tuesday 24th February 2026

What You Need to Succeed





ESSENTIAL

Working with or caring for young people with various additional needs within a school/ Pre School based environment.




KNOWLEDGE AND




SKILLS




QUALIFICATIONS






Ability to relate well to young people and adults.



Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these.



Working in partnership with staff to implement and model advice and recommendation.



To be able to use initiative in and outside of the classroom.



Basic understanding of child development and learning.



Understanding relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation, including safeguarding.



General understanding of national curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies



Effective use of ICT to support learning





At least GCSE Maths and English or equivalent qualifications A to C grade




Experience of working in a range of settings to support young people with SEND needs and deliver model recommendations and strategies



Experience with working with young people in the secondary/FE age phase





Experience of working with young people who require support with their emotional and behavioural regulation.
