Milbank Concrete Products, a leader in the precast concrete industry, is seeking a

Precast Steel Fixer

to join our production team. This hands-on role is integral to our manufacturing process, ensuring reinforcement steel is accurately prepared for casting.

Key Responsibilities:

Cut, bend, tie, and weld reinforcement steel to required specifications. Assemble steel cages by tying or welding pre-formed steelwork. Follow detailed CAD drawings and bending schedules to ensure accuracy. Demonstrate a proactive approach to health and safety. Comply with all Milbank Concrete Products (MCP) policies. Double-check all work before casting to prevent errors. Complete equipment husbandry checks on the shopfloor. Monitor stock levels and coordinate with team leaders to ensure timely orders. Actively participate in 5S (6S) and other projects aimed at continuous improvement and sustainability. Maintain a clean and organized workspace ("clean as you go" culture). Contribute to layout improvements to enhance efficiency.

What We're Looking For

A solid understanding of manufacturing and the concrete sector. Flexibility and openness to change. Effective communication with supervisors and colleagues. Self-motivated and results-driven. Strong teamwork, organizational, and time management skills. Adaptability to new technologies and methods. Experience in a construction or steel fabrication role (precast experience advantageous). Problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills. Experience in steel fixing is essential; industry qualifications are desirable but not mandatory.

Competitive Pay:

Hourly rate with a discretionary bonus linked to individual and company performance.
