Role purpose:



Due to continued growth, we have a newly created part-time position as a Precious Metals General Assistant. The post-holder will be working as part of a small, friendly team and be immersed in all aspects of the precious metals business.

This is a busy customer-facing role, where no two days are the same. The responsibilities associated with this position will evolve in conjunction with the post holder's development.

Note that this role is for 5 hours a day and 25 hours per week from Monday to Friday. We can accommodate school hours if preferred and this can be discussed at interview.

Key responsibilities:



The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

Providing a high standard of customer service to all customers.

Providing support as a counter buyer for precious metals, such as gold, silver, jewellery, and coins.

Booking in customer's packages from the postal service.

Developing skills to be able to assess items accurately for valuation.

Inputting recorded information for claims submission.

Securing and storing items for processing.

Responding to both face-to-face and telephone enquiries from customers.

Communicating with customers via email.

Filing of paperwork in accordance with GDPR guidelines.

Following a period of training, process documentation and payment details.

Fulfilling website sales.

Collaborating with colleagues to maintain a positive working environment.

Keeping the Senior Precious Metals General Assistant updated and advising of any concerns that may arise.

Providing administrative support or assistance to the wider team as required.

Key skills:



A confident manner, together with the ability to provide an excellent standard of customer service through face-to-face, telephone and written communication.

A keen interest in precious metals and willingness to learn all aspects of the trade.

Solution focused with the ability to resolve issues promptly as they arise.

Good IT skills.

Strong diligence and accuracy to ensure a right first-time approach is maintained.

Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.

A strong collaborator who is adaptable and willing to help others, as necessary.

Benefits:



Salary range is from 16,250 to 17,550 per annum (12.50 to 13.50 per hour) depending on relevant experience
25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
