Based in Trimdon, Co. Durham, DLI Engineering is looking to appoint an additional Estimator with the desire to build strong customer relationships and look to develop business opportunities.

Precision Engineering Company

whose customer base is formed out of the Oil and Gas, Aerospace, Defence and Filtration Industries, coupled with some specialist engineering projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

To provide

Cost Estimates

for customers' Requests for Quotations (RFQ's)

Analyse all

Specifications and Bill of Materials

whilst looking for unique features and price accordingly all machining time, administration and Subcon operations Create good

relationships with customers

to develop accounts and seek further opportunities where possible Researching and understanding current market pricing for subcontractors and materials Able to prioritise quotes and ensure suitable time management is allocated to each enquiry such that return dates are met Seek feedback on RFQ's submitted for evaluation Complete

for successful conversions of RFQ's

Key Skills and Knowledge:

Ability to read, interpret and evaluate

Engineering Drawings, BOM's and Specifications

Experienced CNC Engineer

(time served) Develop relationships with customers and suppliers A methodical way of working to co-ordinate the quotation process from start to finish Be

computer literate

and have excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office Packages Resilient with an open mind set and positive attitude in making things happen Confident and determined with a

strong work ethic

and a

good team player

Have an organised and methodical approach to the preparation of documentation and the ability to work using their own initiative, handling multiple tasks in a challenging environment
This is an

interesting

and

varied role

that will requires someone with the desire to develop business opportunities and work closely with customers to fulfil existing and new potential manufacturing requirements. Often the components produced are both bespoke and challenging in manufacture.

Hours are Monday to Thursday 0715 to 1615, Friday 0715 to 1215 with 22 days holiday a year, increasing to 25 days. Salary is circa 35-40K per annum subject to experience and has career progression opportunities which will enhance the salary package.
