Pre Construction Manager

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

We're March Construction, a small but growing team delivering high-end residential projects across London.

We care about good work, clear thinking, and setting projects up properly before they ever reach site. We don't rush pre-construction for us, this stage is where the quality of a project is decided.

We're looking for a Pre-Construction Manager who understands that mindset. Someone who's spent time in pre-construction and knows the value of slowing things down early, asking the right questions, and making sure what's been priced and agreed can actually be built.

Our projects rely on detail, coordination and practical decision-making. We don't chase volume, and we don't win work by glossing over gaps in information. We'd rather be clear, realistic and upfront, and that starts in pre-construction.

This role is about ownership. You'll be responsible for pre-construction at March, taking projects from drawings and early conversations through to clear, buildable packages that the delivery team can rely on. It's for someone who wants responsibility for that stage, and the space to do it properly.

What you'll be doing

You'll take ownership of pre-construction across our projects, making sure pricing, technical coordination and pre-start preparation are clear, accurate and practical.

Pricing & Pre-Construction Packages

Prepare detailed project pricing from drawings, specifications and client information Develop clear, customer-facing scopes, inclusions, exclusions and assumptions Produce structured trade packages that reflect how the project will actually be built Ensure pricing and packages align with programme, sequencing and delivery

Technical Coordination & Buildability

Review architectural, structural and consultant information for completeness and accuracy Identify missing information, clashes and buildability risks early Raise and manage technical queries with the right people, at the right time Use Bluebeam, SketchUp or similar tools to review and clarify technical detail

Programme & Pre-Start Preparation

Contribute to early programme logic and sequencing Capture key decisions, assumptions and risks before projects move forward Prepare clear pre-start information so delivery begins with confidence

Collaboration

Work closely with the Project Manager during pre-construction to sense-check buildability Provide clear, complete information at handover Stay involved after handover where clarification is needed

Who you are

You've worked in pre-construction, estimating or quantity surveying and understand what good looks like.

You're comfortable pricing from drawings, coordinating technical information, and putting proper packages together. You notice gaps, ask questions early, and don't rely on assumptions being "picked up later".

You don't need to have owned the function before, but you do need experience doing this type of work and the confidence to take responsibility for it.

You care about clarity, accuracy and doing things properly, and you like working with people who feel the same way.

About March Construction

We care about the detail. Not just how things look, but how they're thought through and put together.

"High-end" for us isn't surface-level. It's about coordination, planning and making sure what's underneath stacks up as well as what's on top.

The team is experienced, straightforward and professional. There's real momentum behind improving how we work, refining systems and raising standards as the business grows. We invest time in getting the setup right, because it makes everyone's job easier later on.

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing properly. That runs through everything here.
