Overview

The Pre-Fill Nursery role involves supporting the preparation and organisation of nursery stock to ensure efficient and timely planting operations. This position is ideal for individuals with an interest in horticulture, plant management, or environmental services. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the pre-filling of nursery containers, maintaining plant quality, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the nursery environment. This paid position offers valuable hands-on experience in plant cultivation and nursery management.

Responsibilities

Assist with the pre-filling of nursery containers using appropriate soil mixes and planting materials Organise and prepare plant trays for subsequent planting or distribution Ensure all plants are handled carefully to prevent damage and maintain quality standards Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery area to promote safety and efficiency Support with watering, fertilising, and basic plant care as required Follow health and safety guidelines at all times during nursery activities Assist team members with additional tasks related to nursery operations as needed

Skills

Basic understanding of horticultural practices or a keen interest in plant care Ability to work efficiently in a physically active environment, including lifting and bending Organised with good attention to detail to ensure accuracy in pre-filling and handling plants Reliable team player with good communication skills Willingness to learn about nursery processes and plant management techniques Previous experience in a nursery or gardening role is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
